A restrictive floor plan opened into a multi-zone kitchen where light, movement and modern detailing finally work together.
Tri-level houses often separate rooms that want to be together. The kitchen and living space here were boxy, dim and entirely independent of one another.
Reworking them around a central, upgraded fireplace gave both rooms a shared focus and a reason to open up to each other. The space now reads as light-filled and vibrant, which is not a description anyone would have used before.
